Workstream is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer who can combine the art of design with the art of programming. You will work with product managers, designers, and GTM (go-to-market) teams to build tools to streamline the customer onboarding flow for all our products. You will talk to external and internal customers to synthesize learnings and design configurable data models, APIs, and workflows. You will be the first engineer to cofound a new team with an experienced PM.

Day in the Life:

  • Wear the hat of a PM. Talk directly to external and internal customers to figure out the best systems to build to solve their needs.
  • Wear the hat of a tech lead. Design and implement the backend architecture to support complex business scenarios and domains. Iterate and write code following security/compliance/performance/testing best practices.
  • Wear the hat of a project manager. Follow scrum best practices and manage the progress of technical projects across time zones.
  • Wear the hat of a founding team member. Help set up the team's objectives and best practices. Help recruit additional teammates. Be a cultural champion for Workstream's values.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years extensive software engineering experience in an agile environment.
  • A full-stack engineer who can independently work on frontend and backend. Prior React and Ruby on Rails expertise is preferred.
  • Have a proven record of architecting backend systems to represent complex business scenarios.
  • Have a product sense and can talk directly to users to understand their needs.
  • Relentlessly resourceful - always finds a way to solve problems, is never passive or hapless.
  • Have a startup mentality and is biased for action and iteration.
  • Capable of working in a hybrid team with flexible working hours across time zones.
  • Preferred: Proven experience as a technical leader who has built teams in the past.
